There is no question that there are some "coffee smart" people here in Nova Scotia!

Best places in Canada to sip a true Espresso

There is more than Tim Hortons in Canada - thank goodness...Let's travel from East to West Canada to explore these refuges.

Just Us! Coffee Roaster, Grand Pre, at the outskirts of Wolfville - 11865 Hwy 1 and 450 Main St in Wolfville, or 1678 Barrington St, Halifa
Jeff More an Arcadia University professor was searching for a new career that would somehow involve his passion for social justice in Latin America. He planed to set up a small coffee roasting company in the Annapolis Valley and open a Fair Trade coffee museum. Now he buys green, un-roasted coffee beans directly from farming co-ops in Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Guatemala, Bolivia, Colombia and Ethiopia. He pays those farmers in developing countries as nearly as double the price they get from the big global players for their organic coffees, teas, cocoa and chocolate. Customers appreciate not only these outstanding fresh and tasty beverages but also their fresh baked cookies and muffins - yes you just expect it: with organic flour and sugar. Environmental friendly solar panels please those patrons that care about the climate. If you like to sip your coffee outdoors: their are several benches placed on the lawn where you will smell the wild roses.

Sea Gulps Coffee Company, Halifax - Eastern Passage, Fisherman's Cove
Friendly, relaxed staff, cozy flair, all packed into a former Fishing Hut with a huge deck. Did I mentioned their outstanding coffees? A lovely place to hangout, snuggled in Adirondack chairs, watch the seagulls and sipping your latte. My dog loves the place too: gets a cookie and some fresh water. I am jealous for those who live in the vicinity of 50 km of this place - that how far I would drive to get a cup of their coffees.

SeaGulps Coffee Co.

Caffe ArtJava, Montreal - 837 Ave du Mont-Royal East
Fashionably styled café where latte art is the star attraction, their Baristas are all well educated, all their espresso based beverages are made with the Leftist espresso from the Gimme Coffee Roaster. Try the Café Viennese latte topped with whipped cream. There are iced mochas for hot summer days and cookies and croissants to accompany. Cup of Excellence - Enjoy!

Stuart Ross was recently named the Central Region Canadian Barista Champion. He’s sharing that passion with others by bringing latte art to Toronto. Cafe O, Vancouver - 322 Davie St
One of the best espresso shots in Vancouver are being made in this cafe in the heart of Yaletown. Witness their passion and energy behind their espresso machine, they use organic milk and Hines espresso and the coffee flavour is not only superb but perfection.
